12022-08-09T15:43:03+00:00Chloe Bares530f3c338f3834e5b1fae0f1f8559ba0a9ea3b0626plain102022-08-10T22:29:18+00:00Aubrey Brolsma4616c80b9aa34e4709043f3ccb3812a15421096dIn the process of studying the Ottawa County Poor Farm, we were able to collect four groups of residents, distinguished by date of arrival at the Poor Farm, that we have been using to evaluate the reasons people came to the Ottawa Poor Farm as well as who these individuals were. Three of these groups contained a written reason for admittance and therefore, are the three data sets we focused our analysis on. The data collected is documented as residents admitted from 1866-1883, 1950-1970, and 1940+. All of this data was collected from the original log books, and transcriptions of said books, kept at the Ottawa County Poor Farm as collected by the Joint Archives of Holland and the Herrick District Library.
