We acknowledge the use of primary sources (e.g. logbooks, annual reports, newspaper clippings) at the Joint Archives of Holland, the Herrick District Library, and the Van Wylen Library (Hope College). The staff generously answered our questions and helped us to locate documents--thank you!

Other individuals:
Marjorie Viveen organized for us a tour of the Poor Farm and allowed us to view the materials from her collection.
Dr. Deborah Sturtevant and Ms. Mitchell (Disability Network Lakeshore) shared with us their knowledge of the recent history of the Poor Farm.

EastmanVille Farm is the location of the original Poor Farm. It is now a beautiful park with hiking and equestrian trails. It still houses the original poor Farm cemetery and barn. We thank the Ottawa County Parks and Recreation for keeping this beautiful space alive and available to the public in memory of those who previously resided on the land.

We thank each and every person and organization listed here (and many others not listed here) for their time and assistance. This project has, truly, been a collaborative labor of love.
